Helpful Hint:
ReplyDeleteMy light went out recently and I learned the lamppost was wired through a Ground Fault Indicator receptacle in my garage. I reset it and the lamp was fixed instantly. Remember to check that and the bulb first thing.
Hey little info for you. The lamp posts. The company we had to get them from is out of business. Called developer to find out who the manf is – they can’t find any of the info for PC. The sodium bulbs we are supposed to use with the posts – the new bulbs say something like compatiable with a S62 ballast. The reason no one can get the bulbs to work is because our ballast must be different. We have tried bulb after bulb. The one true value used to sell was a Sylvania (? Spelling) bulb. They don’t get from the main warehouse anymore because of large volume purchase requirements so they switched to another brand. Not sure if Sylvania will work but that is what we all used to buy from them. I haven’t yet tried to find that bulb anywhere else. But a regular old spiral florescent bulb should work. Cover the sensor w/tape and leave until it comes on. Took a while but ours finally did.
ReplyDeleteSo anyway the mystery as to why a lot of people can’t get their lamps to work – it’s the bulb or change in bulb/our ballast. I don’t think its electrical.

I would suggest that you try a regular bulb. If you get light, then you know its the ballast issue. If you don't get light then it could be something else.
